Setting:
This book is another fantasy adventure novel, that takes place on the chain of islands, which one of is Artímé and Quill. This book continues the events of the 2nd book in the Unwanteds series, The Island of Silence.
Plot:
After the death of Mr. Today, Artímé has lost all its glory. Reverted to what it looked like before Artímé’s favorite mage, Alex deciphers Mr. Today’s cryptic clue, and returns the magical land back to paradise. Over on the island of Warbler, Lani and Samheed soon see what the economy of this silenced island run on, fear. But just as these two friends begin to completely lose hope, Alex creates a crack squad of mages and statues to rescue his friends, and set off. But the boat they ride on is cursed, and they end up sailing right to a volcano island, that rises and falls on an interval. But when it turns out that this island is not uninhabited, they see someone that Crow and Sky, two former Warblers never expected to see again.
Recommendation:
I recommend this book, because I enjoyed this book. It has good plot, and carries the story well. The magic is not in spells, it is in components that are made, which I really like. This book in particular was not my favorite, but some of the characters that were introduced I thought were really funny, such as Captain Ahab.
