This book is written by a probably not so know author, but the book is still pretty good. There were original 4 books in this series, 3 in the actual series and 1 prequel, but in 2019, he published a sequel book, which I have mixed views on. (But that is for another post) This book is hard to categorize because it is a mix of so many different types of books, so I settled on mystery and real-life fiction. It starts of slow, but as the story progresses, it gets faster and faster, and more suspenseful. It’s not violent or scary, and has good description. The bad guy isn’t creepy, and nor are his workers.
Reynard Muldoon is an orphan. Reynie, his nickname, is shy, smart, and has a love for the truth. He lives at Stonetown Orphanage, where his teacher tutors him, whose name is Mrs. Perumal. One day, she shows him an article asking for “gifted children”. Reynie decides to go. After he passes 3 tests that test his logic and ingenuity, he meets a man named Mr. Benedict. He sends Reynie and 3 other children named George “Sticky” Washington, Kate Weatherall, and Constance Contraire to investigate an academy that may not be all that it seems. They must solve puzzles, codes, riddles, and more, to find out what is truly going on.

So if you have Disney+, there is a show that you can watch. They added something’s that weren’t in the book, and removed some, but it didn’t seem like it was unnecessary. I would give it 4 stars.
