This is the first book in the famous Percy Jackson series by Rick Riordan and… It’s pretty good. So far there are 5 books in this series, two more sequel series with 5 books in each of them, two other series that one doesn’t have anything to do with Percy Jackson, and one that I don’t know about because I have not read it yet. Also, the author has written a lot more books, but I have not read any of them. It’s very suspenseful, thrilling, and adventurous. It’s a little dark in some places but not that bad. The Greek mythology element, and I actually learned some mythology from this book.
Percy Jackson is the focus of this five book series. He lives in New York, is dyslexic, 12 years old, and goes to a private boarding school. One day, his pre-algebra teacher turns into a monster, and Percy vaporizes her. After that, he is taken to Camp Half-Blood, a safe haven for demi-gods, descendants of Greek gods. But the gods are in turmoil. Someone has stolen Zeus’s lightning bolt, and if it is not returned in time, World War 3 could might as well start. So Percy sets off on a quest, with 2 new friends, to find the lightning bolt, and return it back to its rightful owner. But the thief may not be who it seems. You should read this book, but that is up to you.
