Setting:
This book is a science fiction-adventure that takes place all over Europe. It follows the adventures of Holly Short, a fairy, and Artemis Fowl, a criminal mastermind. This book is told in third person, and takes place after the events of “Artemis Fowl: The Lost Colony”.
Plot:
Artemis Fowl and the fairies live in a momentary peace, so when Artemis’s mother is sick, and no human cure can be found for it, he calls upon the fairies. They diagnose it as Spelltropy, a rare sickness that can only be healed with the brain fluid of a silky sifaka lemur. (I know, a little gross.) And in the most ironic case ever, the last one was killed by yours truly, Artemis Fowl. So, in a race against time, he and Holly Short, travel back in time, hoping to save the lemur from his past self. The pair must face the cunning of the young Artemis, the brawn of the young boy’s Butler, and make it back, with the lemur, back to their own time. But when an unforeseen enemy arises, will the plan go awry?
Recommendation:
This book did not really get the feel of Artemis Fowl for me. I felt it was kind of boring, and did not have enough cool gadgets and mystery to it. The new characters weren’t really exciting, and the whole plot overall was kind of depressing. So, not my favorite Artemis Fowl, but you can decide for yourself.
