Some other great books, like Harry Potter or Percy Jackson, overshadow this book series. But I think Eoin Colfer made an amazing series. There is no adventure/quest in this book but the fantasy element stands out really well. (# Fairies!) The perspective shifts, allowing the different scenes to be told by different characters. It is not violent, but a super small part scary.
Artemis fowl is a 12 year-old criminal mastermind, like a true mastermind. His father was, his grandfather was, and so on and so forth. He is a genius, not at all sarcastic (or funny), and very business-like. He lives in Fowl Manor, which is located in Ireland. Artemis is very rich, and is willing to exploit anyone, event the fairies, to get gold. This book tells the tale of young Artemis Fowl, as he is on a quest to gain more gold.
